While everyone with half a brain knows that abstinence-only sex education is diseased-mind stupid, I've never known what they actually teach.

Until the Texas Freedom Network FOId the teaching materials and sex-ed curriculum from Texas public schools and had a long hard look at them.

The findings were disturbing even for me, and I'm pretty much of the unshakeable opinion that the political leadership in the south of America is so irreparably stupid it's only a matter of time before they forget how to breathe.

Some highlights:

- More than 96 percent of school districts – with more than 3.7 million students – fail to teach any medically accurate information on responsible pregnancy and disease prevention.

- An astounding 38.9 percent of districts utilize curriculum materials or presentations that contain inaccurate information about sexually transmitted diseases.

- ...9.5 percent of Texas secondary school districts include inappropriate religious content in their sexuality
education instruction. Consider a handout used by one district entitled: “Things to look for in a mate.”

How they relate to God
A. Is Jesus their first love?
B. Trying to impress people or serve God?

And the money quote:

Some of the “facts” in Texas sexuality education materials simply defy description or categorization. One example is this strange statement from the Wonderful Days abstinence-only program (used in three districts):

“If a woman is dry, the sperm will die. If a woman is wet, a baby she may get!”

Texas, btw, has the third highest rate of teen pregnancy in the US.
